Access Arrangement Assessment 

What are Access Arrangement Assessments?

 

Access arrangement assessments ensure learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), or learners will temporary injuries or illnesses are given the same opportunities, through reasonable adjustments, when completely formal examinations and assessments in line with the Equality Act 2010 (Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ), 2026).

 

Access arrangement assessments are conduct to determine what level of support a learner may need during a formal exam. These reasonable adjustments can include; 25%-50% extra time, a reader, a scribe, a prompter etc.

 

Exam assess arrangements are formally agreed  based upon a student’s normal way of working within the classroom and with supporting evidence to demonstrate the learning needs of the student (JCQ, 2026). 

 

Access arrangement assessments are suitable for formal examinations and assessments for learners studying for SATs, GCSEs, A-Levels, Functional Skills, Apprenticeships, Level 2-Level 4 Vocational Courses.
