Free SpLD Screening Tools

The SpLD Screeners below can be downloaded, printed, and easily scored.

 

One point is awarded for every Yes response.

Once the screener has been completed, simply add up the total number of Yes responses and use the colour code key at the bottom of the screener.

How to Interpret the Screening Tools

Low = This result indicates a low risk of a specific learning difficulty.

Moderate = This result indicates a moderate risk of a specific learning difficulty. A formal diagnosis may yet not be appropriate but the highlighted difficulties identified should be appropriately supported, and monitoring is advised. 

High = This result indicates a high risk of a specific learning difficulty. A formal diagnosis should be considered and the highlighted difficulties should be appropriately supported, reviewed and monitored.

Very High = This result indicates a very high risk of a specific learning difficulty. A formal diagnosis would be recommended and the highlighted difficulties should be appropriately supported, reviewed and monitored.

It is important to note that some difficulties covered within the screening tools can be cooccurring. For example; difficulties associated with organisation could be linked to ADHD, Dyslexia and/or Dyspraxia.
